Beyond Crisis

Dear Colleague,

On Monday December 15th 2008 we posted an article on our sister site called “Is Crisis an Opportunity.” The theme of the post was to stimulate a debate and encourage our members to think beyond the crisis and understand what challenges and possible solutions may lay ahead for both our members and their communities.

Since that date a lot has happened, and attached is a video link ...Beyond Crisis

from a panel discussion at “Beyond Crisis”, the TUC/Guardian conference on a progressive response to the financial crisis which took place on the 16th November 2009.

Speakers were John Kay (Financial Times columnist), Ann Pettifor (Advocacy International), Gillian Tett (Financial Times) and Dave Prentis (UNISON), with the TUC’s Frances O’Grady chairing.

We are pleased to see that such a prominent trade unionist as Mr Dave Prentis and the TUC are also encouraging such a debate and you may wish to note that his contribution starts at about 20 minutes and 30 seconds into the presentation.
